Last Friday’s Soil Kitchen was a fantastic finale to our Community Compost School programme! Over the last 3 months we’ve presented organic waste as a precious natural resource for our urban food cycle, empowered participants to turn waste into value, at home or in their neighbourhoods, by making compost & we have encouraged circular systems thinking to see opportunities for positive social enterprise in preventing & using organic waste.

A big thank you to StadsOogst & Taste Before You Waste for bringing this all together so beautifully in one afternoon! We enjoyed a workshop from Rowin & Chris from Stadsoogst on how to make soil from compost in order to grow food, then Sophia Bensch from Taste Before You Waste told us how we can all make a positive impact on our food system by being creative in the kitchen with food waste.

To celebrate the end of the programme Javier Murugarren gave a very beautiful hang concert in the dome, with music & singing that left us all feeling very peaceful & inspired. Then Jan Willem Groen had us dancing in the dome with an uplifting mix of world music, as the Green Living Lab crew made snacks & drinks for guests. Thank you to everyone who came along & made it a very special day. ?
